Science and art belong to the whole world, and before them vanish the barriers of nationality.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
A Phoenix rises from the ashes of all that is broken – raw energy, nascent spirit, emergent potential. Our great transformation invokes a great renewal. We who bear witness are called upon to shape our spirits to benefit all living things, to harness the good will of all those present, ready to participate. We must salvage the lessons of the past so our ancestors did not live in vain. The golden mean lies in establishing boundaries so that a new model can thrive until its own maturity makes its boundaries obsolete. This is the way of nature, the artists’ muse, advisor, and role-model, at once ancient and forever new.
Concerto Virtuale invites artists in their chosen venues to curate live events where magic can occur. Our dilemma: All those who’ve escaped the web of their own ignorance will tell you, they suffered more than they had to. Had they known then what they know now, much suffering could have been avoided. We all suffer for participating blindly in relative ignorance. As artists, we can purge ourselves collectively by telling our unique stories. If we instill our insights in a community, extending to a nation, then to the whole world, we can ignite transformation.
Amplifying our finer human qualities is our best guarantee of a better world through an emergent artistic forum and growing network, from local to global. Prior to the curation of each event, participants choose which concerns to address. Art director(s) develop the event with community leader(s). The event itself functions as a collective mirror to reflect individual perspectives. Shared meaning emerges. Trust grows.
To harness art and cutting-edge technology in service of humanity and community, Concerto Virtuale proposes that artists can play a key role in the fragile reach across the divide – the abyss between a consolidated class of powerful players and the growing number of disenfranchised. Imagine channeling AI to serve humanity so the most vulnerable of us can feel its positive impact. Much pain would be relieved. The rich and powerful would be safer too. Unless AI works for all of us, it may be the biggest bubble ever. The window may be closing. Investing in the humane implementation of AI without a quest for immediate return is the long game on Earth, which does not require emigrating to Mars.
Meaning is anchored in experience and radiates from memory with visions for the future. This is the difference between AI and being human. The artist’s higher mission is to act as a pristine mirror, capable not only of reflecting the difficult truth, but also showing a way forward toward enlightenment, social reconciliation and non-violent action, guided by intelligence, nuance and innovative collaboration.
Our mission is, as Buckminster Fuller said, “to make the world work for 100% of humanity in the shortest possible time through spontaneous cooperation without ecological offense or the disadvantage of anyone.”
Concerto Virtuale in 2026 honors the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America – America Rising.
A globally renowned German jazz improv artist envisaged how jazz improv can inspire America Rising:
“Jazz is the United States’ most widely applauded contribution to world culture. Because it’s improvisational, open and flexible, jazz can act as a musical guide, connecting all styles introduced by immigrant communities to win hearts and minds and overcome our current nightmare… amplifying the power of the arts, especially music, to unify non-violent power like the monks walking for peace.“
